BLATNIK`S PALILULA – „Light the pipe“

"Featured artist“, architect, cartoonist, painter printmaker, designer and writer, Aleksandar Blatnik, who lives and works in Nis at the Institute for Cultural Heritage Preservation, in the accompanying program of 45th " Film festival "promoted the cartoon with the theme" PALILULA-Light the pipe“, 45th Film festival Nis. This work, which was used as an illustration of the matches that are shared to visitors and guests of the Festival, in a symbolic way explains the concept of a possible origin of the name „palilula“,said the author. Blatnik is one of the greatest living cartoonists of Serbia, a member of ULUS, has over 400 group exhibitions at home and abroad and over 30 solo exhibitions in prestigious galeries in Serbia and abroad. He drew the cartoons for all papers in the country and several television companies. He has more than 80 prestigious national and international awards for caricature and painting. Thanks to a very rich work, and in particular works with themes from everyday life, but also those with the daily political themes, strong and widespread impact on artistic creativity and education, of many cartoonists in Serbia. Aleksandar Blatnik has a studio located in the territory of Palilula Municipality.
